Our therapeutic parenting support groups are a great opportunity to come and chat with your peers and some of our therapeutically trained social workers about the challenges and rewards of parenting adopted children!

Each month focuses on a new key theme and encourages open discussion amongst adopters, with our social workers there to offer guidance and resources.

The groups are open to all adoptive parents in the region and offer a chance to meet and share with other adopters and provide a safe, non-judgemental space to feel heard.

This support group meeting will be taking place on 5 December 2023 at 10am and the theme for this month will be around the Self-Sabotage, Self-Destruct Concept. This will include thinking about:

  • Understanding a child's behaviours
  • Hidden emotional needs
  • What am I feeling?
  • Strategies for supporting children
  • Internal working model
