Young Adopted Adults group

Are you an adopted adult aged 17-23?

We have a new group for you that’s still developing and doesn’t yet have it’s own name. The group meets monthly. The meetings are a mix of online meetings, activity / meal out session (decided by the group and will need to be self- funded by each person) and meetings in a venue. The group gives young adopted adults a chance to meet and socialise together and offer a sense of belonging with others with a shared identity.

The group will also help Adoption East Midlands to think about the needs of young adopted adults, their lived experience of being adopted and offer their views on what support would have been helpful as a young person. The group will also offer views on what support young adopted adults need and gain their views on services that are being developed by Adoption East Midlands and could also be involved with other consultation and participation work with other agencies and Adoption England.

If you would like to find out more or are interested in attending please contact Allison Lindley or Rita Marshall - allison.lindley@adoptioneastmidlands.nottscc.gov.uk / rita.marshall@adoptioneastmidlands.nottscc.gov.uk.

We have organised an informal social meeting for Tuesday 18 June 2024 6.30pm - 8.30pm and would welcome new members to join the group. Some food and refreshments will be available. If you want to come along, please contact Allison or Rita. It will be in a venue in Derbyshire.
